Hello,
My name is Mrs. Dana Sonnier and I was born and raised in Erath. I attended Erath High School where I was a graduate of the Class of 1993. I obtained my elementary education degree through Grand Canyon University in Phoenix, Arizona in 2021. I have worked at Dozier and Erath High as a Special Education Paraprofessional for 15 years and this is where I found my love for teaching students. This is my first year teaching and I look forward to a productive and amazing year with your children.
I am married to John Sonnier, also of Erath, and together we have 8 children and 14 grandchildren. In my spare time I love to read, spend time with my family and friends, listening to music and vacationing at the beach during the summer.
My philosophy for teaching is as followed:
I chose to teach because of my love for children. I want to be one of the many people who help students grow into individuals that become successful each day they are in school. It is amazing when you are teaching a lesson and you can see the light bulb go off and they become excited in the activity. I love to find areas where they gain an interest and want to grasp more knowledge than they had before they entered my classroom.
